Self-aligning ball bearings can be made of plastic, ceramic, stainless steal and bearing steal.
Self-aligning ball bearings has two kinds of structures which are cylindrical bore and tapered bore. The material of the cage can be steel plale or synthetic resine etc. Its speciality is that its outer race are in spherical shape, and with the ability of self-aligning. It can repair the errors caused by different concentricity and deflection ,but its inner and outer ring relative slop is not allowed to be over 3 degrees.
Applications:
Self-aligning ball bearings are suitable for under heavy load and the impact load, widely used in metallurgical mine oil papermaking mill cement wrung sugar industry, etc.

Double row self-aligning ball bearings have a sphere raceway in the outer ring and a double raceway in the inner ring. This feature give the bearings their self-aligning property, permitting angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing. They are therefore particularly suitable for applications where misalignment can arise from errors in mounting or from shaft deflection.
Double row self-aligning ball bearings are mainly used to carry radial loads and light axial loads, but cann't carry pure axial loads
